Abstract

In this paper we consider a mathematical model which describes a system of thermoviscoelasticity with a nonlinear boundary damping. We establish, under appropriate assumptions imposed on kernel of relaxation function and with certain initial data, the general decay rate of the solution energy, which the usual exponential and polynomial decay are only special cases.

This work generalizes and improves earlier results in the literature.
